Fixing the Web with the Interplanetary File System
The Interplanetary File System (IPFS) is an attempt to decentralize the web by upgrading the network protocols that underlie it. The web is fragile. A page that is available today might disappear tomorrow; whether from server outage, url scheme reworking or simple censorship. The web is centralized. The latest cat pie might be shared to a million phones, but each of those phones has to download the file through the choke point of one group of servers.
